We look beyond access to work to examine part-time employment, temporary contracts and occupational scores reflecting pay, career prospects and benefits. The Nordic context is particularly relevant given native women’s very high labour market participation. We assess whether migrant women are more likely to work part-time, have temporary contracts or receive lower occupational prestige scores than expected for their age and education. These patterns may indicate disadvantages linked to gender and migrant background.
By examining these patterns, the report can help policymakers identify where targeted support may be needed – not only to help migrant women find work, but also to improve their access to secure jobs with better pay and career prospects.
