At this year’s Nordic Conference on Integration, we will examine what we know about active citizenship, negative social control, and social integration. We will explore progress within gender equality and democratic engagement as well as barriers such as honor related violence. What shall we be aware of in terms of possible conflicts between host country expectations and family norms among newly arrived? What can we learn from existing initiatives to support active citizenship?

Experts from across the Nordic region will gather in Copenhagen to present how integration can be understood in a broader sense than employment rates and language skills.

The conference welcomes all experts, policymakers and researchers from across the Nordic region working on integration at the national, regional, or local level.

The programme combines presentations of recent research with applied perspectives. There will also be plenty of opportunities to meet and share experiences with colleagues across the Nordic region.

Registration opens in September

The full programme will be announced shortly. Registration opens in September 2026, so be sure to mark your calendar already now.

Please note that the conference is a fully in‑person event and will not be available for digital participation.
